Originally from Memphis, TN, Jarryd played competitive tennis for 17 years before transitioning to coaching full time in 2019. He moved to Greenville in 2019 and quickly became involved in our local racket sports community. Jarryd started playing pickleball in 2023 and began playing tournaments in 2024. He currently holds a 5.38 doubles and 5.49 singles rating on DUPR.

Aside from running clinics, teaching lessons and directing the programming at baseline GVL, you’ll find Jarryd traveling across the country for professional pickleball tournaments on the PPA Tour. He has competed against multiple Top 50 ranked opponents, with his most notable win coming against Chris Haworth (#1 singles player on the PPA Tour) in mixed doubles at the Raleigh PPA Challenger. Off the court, you might find Jarryd at a Greenville Drive game, local brewery or golf course. And he probably would enjoy it if you challenged him to a game of darts.
